STEMThe Sunrise STEM Showcase will be held on March 9th from 6:00-7:30 in the Sunrise Gym. This event will feature hands-on science activities for all age groups as well as student and class science projects. There are four types of projects that students may complete. These are: 1) Scientific Practices (science project) for individual students; 2) Inventions (students create a prototype for an invention that solves a problem) for from 1-4 students; 3) Technology (computer-based project including coding, digital story-telling, or video editing) for from 1-4 students; or 4) Reverse Engineering (students dismantle a device, mount the parts on a board, and explain how one of the main sub-assemblies works) for from 1-4 students. There will also be two events held at the Puyallup Fairgrounds for the District STEM Showcase in April. These are the Straw Tower Contest and the Cardboard Castle Competition.
