The Sunrise STEM Showcase will be held on March 9th from 6:00-7:30 in the Sunrise Gym.
This event will feature hands-on science activities for all age groups as well as student and
class science projects. There are four types of projects that students may complete. These
are: 1) Scientific Practices (science project) for individual students; 2) Inventions (students
create a prototype for an invention that solves a problem) for from 1-4 students; 3)
Technology (computer-based project including coding, digital story-telling, or video
editing) for from 1-4 students; or 4) Reverse Engineering (students dismantle a device,
mount the parts on a board, and explain how one of the main sub-assemblies works) for
from 1-4 students. There will also be two events held at the Puyallup Fairgrounds for the
District STEM Showcase in April. These are the Straw Tower Contest and the Cardboard
Castle Competition. For information, parents and students should visit the Sunrise STEM
Showcase Schoology Course (ACCESS CODE C6M7S-J885F).
